Gene

Gene was born and raised in south Kansas City. When he was younger, his mom would take him out of school to travel the country, and Gene found inspiration on the road. He would often draw and photograph the places they visited. He discovered in high school that he loved expressing himself through oil painting and printmaking. In 1996, he became a member of the National Art Society. Gene loves to stay active and achieved a 2nd degree black belt in Judo in 1997.  He doesn’t necessarily know how to categorize his approach to painting but loves to explore color and movement in his art. Gene says he won’t often create a straight line, but straight lines also don’t often appear in nature.
