We are an arts-based day program for creative individuals with developmental disabilities.

We provide creative individuals with the tools and materials to define themselves as artists.

Our artists are supported by teams of other artists that help integrate the studio into the art community at a local, national, and international level. Imagine That! supports over 50 individual artists with 10 staff members and a number of volunteers from the surrounding area. Since 2012, we’ve exhibited all around Kansas City, as well as in several group exhibitions across the country and the UK.

Artists are encouraged to express themselves through a variety of mediums. Imagine That! studio offers space to paint, throw pottery, make music and much more! (visit the studio page for more detailed information)

Each artist also has the opportunity to create music with-in our music studio! Our musicians have performed lives shows on First Fridays and at SouthwestXCentral street festivals.

We often take visits to Kansas City’s numerous museums, galleries, and artist studios. We’re not only providing a place to create art, but a community of artists to be a part of.

Our Staff

Our staff consists of practicing artists and creative individuals

We practice what you call a ‘hands-off’ approach. We teach and help implement new concepts, but we let each artist work according to their own desires. This gives us the opportunity to allow each individual to share what’s truly important to them and express themselves without interference.

Some trained through college art programs, others  self-taught.
